Whatever the case, we can only read and choose to accept it as truth or not. No person can prove or disprove this account upon the earth today. All we can do is express our own opinion, but in the end, no single person truly knows.
MYTH: a symbolic narrative, usually of unknown origin and at least partly traditional, that ostensibly relates actual events and that is especially associated with religious belief. It is distinguished from symbolic behaviour (cult, ritual) and symbolic places or objects (temples, icons). Myths are specific accounts of gods or superhuman beings involved in extraordinary events or circumstances in a time that is unspecified but which is understood as existing apart from ordinary human experience. The term mythology denotes both the study of myth and the body of myths belonging to a particular religious tradition.

While the builders originally planned to hold the ark together with wooden pegs, modern building codes required the builders to use steel fasteners, thus 95 tons of metal plates and bolts were used to connect the wood together.

I still find it funny that Ken Hamm’s ark needed modern, state-of-the-art construction technology to build.
In today's modern times, without heavy equipment this ark could never be built. How did Noah bend beams, carry heavy loads, saw wood?

Who Were the Nephilim?

The hybrids born from this unnatural union were no ordinary children. (Genesis 6:4) The Nephilim were giant bullies, tyrants who filled the earth with violence. (Genesis 6:13) The Bible describes them as “the mighty ones of old times, the men of fame.” (Genesis 6:4) They left behind a legacy of violence and fear.—Genesis 6:5; Numbers 13:33. b
Misconceptions about the Nephilim
Misconception: The Nephilim are still alive on earth today.
Fact: Jehovah caused a global flood to destroy that violent ancient world. The Nephilim were wiped out along with all wicked people. In contrast, Noah and his family found favor with Jehovah and were the only ones preserved alive at that time.—Genesis 6:9; 7:12, 13, 23; 2 Peter 2:5.
Misconception: The Nephilim were fathered by humans.
Fact: Their fathers are called “sons of the true God.” (Genesis 6:2) The Bible uses this same expression to describe angels. (Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7) Angels had the power to materialize in human form. (Genesis 19:1-5; Joshua 5:13-15) The apostle Peter spoke of “the spirits in prison, who had formerly been disobedient when God was patiently waiting in Noah’s day.” (1 Peter 3:19, 20) Referring to the same circumstances, the Bible writer Jude explains that some angels “did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place.”—Jude 6.
Misconception: The Nephilim were fallen angels.
Fact: The context of Genesis 6:4 indicates that the Nephilim were, not angels, but hybrid offspring born from sexual relations between materialized angels and women. After the angels “began taking as wives all whom they chose,” Jehovah said that in 120 years he would take action against the ungodly world of that time. (Genesis 6:1-3) The account adds that “in those days,” the materialized angels “continued to have relations with the daughters of men” and that they produced “the mighty ones of old times,” the Nephilim.—Genesis 6:4.
Angels are beings without sexual needs. They are neither male, nor female. Angels do not have gender since gender is a biological function. Angels are not biological.
Humans have a libido (sexual desires) that is influenced by testosterone (men) and estrogen (female). The angels could not therefore feel attraction for women, nor men. A being that is not designed to have sexual desire cannot have sexual desire.
The fact that angels (who have no sexual desire and even less sexual orientation ) were attracted only for females, proves that this story is a mythical story.

Challenging the basic laws of physics
The ship would've been too big for its structure to support itself. According to shipbuilding experts, among them A. M. Robb, there is an upper limit to the possible length of any given wooden ship. Anything above 300 feet would start to bend and deform under its own weight when put to the test of the sea in actual navigation.

That's the nature of wood, and that's why all the ships that even come close to that size are made of iron and steel. Shipbuilders turned to more resistant materials in the 1800s, not because it was more practical, but because such large wooden ships are simply impossible to make.
Consider that the largest wooden ships ever built, the six-masted schooners, required long iron strappings to support them. And even these couldn't resist a lasting voyage even in shallow water, let alone the violent conditions of the flood. And the ark was supposedly over 100 feet even than these. God must have either performed a constant miracle to keep the ship together, or give Noah instructions as to how to build such a structure through a long-forgotten technique.

If the Watchtower Society were cutting back in 2015 ( getting rid of old timers, dead weight, health insurance costs), why are they going ahead with their Ramapo Project?
Accommodations for resident staff include 645 residential units (545 one-bedroom and 100 studio units), dining/assembly spaces, recreation/wellness/fitness facilities, and a clinic.

I started a thread 16 years ago about the 1975 debacle. I went through this non-event. We were studying a Watchtower article where the Society blamed its members for the debacle ... ''reading into things, becoming disheartened, slowing down in the field ministry and had little time for spiritual matters.''
I walked out in the middle of the Watchtower Study yesterday............

In 2008, Indonesia reached a peak of 21,699 publishers. The branch facilities were stretched to the limit. Also, because the facilities were built during the ban, they were in an out-of-the-way location. Clearly, a larger branch nearer to Jakarta was needed.
About two years later, the brothers purchased a property that was very different from the previous branch—the entire 31st floor of an ultra-modern 42-story office tower near central Jakarta. The brothers next bought 12 floors in a nearby apartment tower to accommodate 80 or more Bethelites. They also acquired a five-story building to house the Bethel Home departments.

A team of construction servants from different countries worked along with local contractors to remodel the offices and the apartments. “Jehovah repeatedly helped us through seemingly intractable problems,” says construction overseer Darren Berg. “For example, we wanted to install a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant, but the authorities were unfamiliar with the technology and refused to approve it. Then a local Witness who is an engineer took our case to a senior official. The official promptly approved our request, stating that he completely trusted our brother’s recommendation.”

I’ve mentioned d this before, but I was at the district assembly in summer of 1976, in Chicago. Fred Franz was there to give a talk. He shook his finger at the audience and said that nothing happened in 1975 because “You wanted something to happen.”
